What is your story?
What is your story?
How would you describe yourself?
Imagine meeting someone who asks you to tell about yourself shortly.
What would you tell?
"Strength lies in differences, not in similarities." - Stephen Covey
Is there a formula?
I believe there is no one right formula how to tell your story. The one thing I found relevant for myself is that I want to know you, I want to learn about you.
So what would you tell?
How would you reveal your:
What makes you happy in this life and why do you enjoy being yourself?
Here is an example of a recent initiative by Zoe Bermant inviting the LinkedIn network to join with their #carouself stories. Hope you enjoy the version of my story ??
Here is another example of me revealing my values through the slides, showing the importance of love, acceptance, quality time with family, relationships as a key fundament of my personality. I am a people person. Being in relationships with my kids, family, friends, partners, colleagues, like-mids, network is a very strong part of my story. I love people. Everything is about people in my life. ??
Recently I discovered a LIVE conversation from my like-mind Tiina Pereira with her guest, amazing Jules White, where Jules discovered sales as a relationship process. And this resonated with me so strongly. I have been in sales all my professional life. I've been promoting active lifestyle and snowboarding, surfing, top-rated advertising agency services, the importance of corporate visual identity, unique handcrafted bracelet, the beauty of organic cosmetics, the magic of chocolate, and now a role of balanced nutrition, and Personal Branding on LinkedIn.
And, all of these activities were always people-based.

Why be personal?
It's all about people, how they like it and what they like, how to help them, and how to build that long-term trust and relationships.
And being personal has been a path, a key, a funnel for me to open the doors to people - to hear me, understand me, and start building trust for me.
Here is an example of slides where I speak of the importance of being personal on LinkedIn. Of course, being personal you expose yourself and become more vulnerable as well, for sure. This is the uncomfortable part. Still being personal you show your interest in establishing authentic relationships. P2P ??
What captures the attention of your network?
Also inviting your network to think about values, issues, concerns that can make a difference and improve the quality of their lives, ? can be an angle how you can tell your story. This is also the way how you engage your like-minds and people who don't know you yet.

3 年Thank you so much Ieva for the mention - I always say that getting personal on LinkedIn doesn't mean telling everyone you have an ingrown toenail. It means showing some PERSONALity.
