What is your SEO Ethos?

What is an Ethos? An Ethos is defined as: the characteristic spirit of a culture, era, or community as manifested in its beliefs and aspirations.

Ethos is a Greek word meaning "character" that is used to describe the guiding beliefs or ideals that characterize a community, nation, or ideology. The Greeks also used this word to refer to the power of music to influence emotions, behaviors, and even morals.

Ethos is important for developing a credible reputation

I live upon an ethos of two factors that have led to all my SEO success:

• I shall do things correctly and or correct all issues I find for future success
• I shall build successful things so others may build upon my successes for the future

Now I have had the opportunity to come up with this over 20 years ago and this is how I live my life. Now let’s put the SEO into this. 

• I shall do SEO correctly and or correct all SEO issues I find for future success
• I shall build successful SEO platforms so others may build upon my SEO successes for the future

You can do this with your family, friends, work (of any nature) and even your fitness. Maybe it is even building your company as well. If you have a team, swap out the "I" for "We" and show those leadership skills.

So back to the SEO, if you find an issue you should create and Epic and clean it up. You would not want dog poop sitting on the floor of your home - why would you want poop on your website? The faster you find the bad stuff (poop) and clean up your website then you can move onto bigger things. The smaller issues are always easier to find than the big complex issues, you will find the big stuff as you move your way up. 

Build successful things. Seems pretty straightforward but how many times have you seen people worm their ideas into a project to the point that your original product is not even seen anymore. Just keep your project limited to a very simple project. The more you keep SEO simple, the better your life will be and the more successful your SEO will become.
