What are your rules?

We are all so programmed to continue to do things the way we have always done them.
Maybe work until 8 every night because "hard working people work long hours".
Or always eat breakfast because "it's the most important meal of the day"
We sometimes get caught up in others' judgement if we don't follow these random rules (and let's face it, some of them are pretty darn random...)
But mostly we judge ourselves. We are our harshest critics.
Lately I've been challenging myself and my own dogma.
Do I really need to ever put the kids in aftercare? (I did it for years because I needed to work until 5.30 every day....NOT)
Can I pay for someone to change the light bulbs? (Yep!)
Why wait for society or others to change the norm....to say it's OK to be different or do things your way?
I mean all those years worrying about whether my butt was too big and now that judgement about what is desirable has changed, it's probably not big enough! (Talk about random, baseless BS...)
So, I put it to you....what random "rules" are you following? (either in life or business)
Maybe helping people doesn't always have to mean dropping everything and saying yes.
Maybe it's OK to teach your kids to swear
Maybe you can take Wednesdays off every single week to play golf with your dad
Come on. How about challenging and then breaking one of the old rules that was placed in your psyche many years ago and is not longer relevant.
See you on the flip side. I'm going camping with the kids on a Thursday. :)
