What is your Purpose?

What is your Purpose?

At a time such as this, I am reminded of the purpose that I created during a personal development course last year. I was reflecting on it this morning during my morning routine. It resonated so much with me and caused me to want to share about it.

These are challenging times and knowing how we can best serve the world and others can keep up grounded. I spent time at a Leadership retreat last year and one of our exercises was to create a purpose statement. We spent time in quiet meditation, visualization, discussion and working together. My final statement was and is:

My purpose is to create a loving and peaceful world by being embracing and courageous.

I have always been one to spread love and positivity. I am always looking at the best instead of the worst, at the possibilities and not the limitations. And the idea of embracing is one of inclusion. Embracing everyone’s differences and quirks and opinions. Not always agreeing. I have learned to listen more than talk and in that listening I can hear others opinions and know that I don't have to agree but need to respect. I love to have a connection with others who respect each other’s opinions even if they are different than theirs. And not trying to convince or pressure the others to change theirs to match their own.

Courageous means a lot to me as well. I have also created an intention for this year and that is I am the possibility of Courage. The past few years have been a challenge, business wise, family wise, in a lot of ways. I have been committed to change and improvement. But within that change there is some discomfort and uncertainty. So as I set my intention for the year, this is what I thought about. I am the possibility of courage, courage to stay in the uncertainly and unknowing and trust that when I trust the process of the Law of Attraction and Manifesting what I desire and working the plan, all will happen in due time. It’s not always easy yet I know that anything that requires change and creates out-of-the-comfort-zone action, it is well worth it.

What is your purpose? What is your intent for the year?

Do you have one?

There is no time than this to create a purpose and energy around peace and love and change and courage. I encourage you to share what you have created or are committed to.

Be the change that you want to see in the world and put out the love and peace that you want to create.

First, beautiful purpose Moyra! I'm a firm believer that without purpose life holds no true power. This will sound a little grandiose but the purpose that drives me is to transform the quality of Life of people by helping them build successful businesses and mindsets. Too corny?

I love this question because I worked for weeks on just this one thing, figuring out my purpose. Having grown up in a volatile, abusive alcoholic household, I learned to walk around in fear. The fears caused me to stifle my voice and become a people-pleaser. At the age of 51, I hired a life coach to help me figure out "the meaning of MY life." In working with her I discovered I have value. I remember the exact moment like it were yesterday. I declared to myself, "I have value. From this moment forward I will share my voice with the world. Someone needs to hear what I have to say." I've done that ever since and it's totally changed my life for the better. This led to me discovering my purpose. I learned that I love helping other women share their voice with the world because it can change their life for the better. I share their voice in my collaboration books, on podcast and video interviews. Like Sharon Brown I MO2VATE magazine the business bible for SMEs ?? , I believe in collaboration and cooperation, not competition. There's an abundance to be had. We just need to believe it and go for it.
