What was your Power Up moment?

What was your Power Up moment?

What was your Power Up moment?

Mine was after Malbec May in lockdown, where like many I was drinking too much. I had a lightbulb moment and I realised I had a choice: I could either do the work and level up, or choose comfort and watch greatness slip on by.

In my work as an Authenticity Coach, I help female entrepreneurs smash their own ceiling and achieve more than they ever thought themselves capable of.

But it wasn’t always like this.

As a recovering relentless high achiever and control freak, I was the master of hustle.

Of doing more, of pushing to make things happen, of delivering no matter the cost.

I was Superwoman and proud of it, juggling so many balls to keep the show on the road with our 3 kids.

Sure, I looked successful on paper, but I was knackered, constantly anxious and wondering when I’d get to start enjoying my business.

Red wine was my drug of choice to numb the nagging feeling I wasn’t happy (see also food, crappy boundaries and reality tv), and this grew to a point in early lockdown where I had a moment of clarity:

I could choose to Power Up and see just how far I could go, or choose the easy, familiar, safe path.

Luckily I chose the former and my life is unrecognisable now.

I’ve created the business and life of my dreams, helping female founders grow aligned and impactful businesses.

I’m on a mission to help as many female entrepreneurs as I possibly can, not least because when women rise, they bring other women with them.

Why female founders fail - and how not to be one of them

In this video training I'm talking about why female founders fail - and how not to be one of them

I've been coaching female entrepreneurs since 2007, and what I've seen is there are a certain set of challenges that (mostly) only female founders experience.

Understanding these challenges, and knowing how to navigate them can mean the difference between success and throwing in the towel in your business.

So buckle up, because this conversation could be a game-changer for you.

Enjoy the conversation and don’t forget to ring the bell on my profile for more like this.

I can tell you one of my early power up moments. It was about 13/14 years ago. I was still sticking it out in my corporate job but really not enjoying it. I was training to be a coach at the time and, at one of the in-person training sessions, I got talking to a couple of the other attendees. One of them had just found out she was pregnant and yet had decided to quit her job and set herself up as a coach (something that most people would say would be the worst time to do such a thing, especially as were in the middle of recession at the time) As I drove home, I thought to myself "If she can do it, why can't I?" - and a short while later I handed my notice in and became a professional coach. So a huge thank you to that single individual who inspired me to take the plunge and put me on the path where I am today. And in case anyone reading this hasn't worked it out, yes - that person was Claire Ackers Thank you Claire.
