What if your performance has less to do with sales training and more to do with your body chemistry?
The GrowthHub invited me to deliver a brand new Sales Toolkit that will help you manage your chemistry for better performance.
While there's much I could share on this topic, I want to highlight the key takeaways that will be most helpful for the times we find ourselves in. Discover two practical techniques that you can use to leverage your chemistry for better performance.?
Doing less, more elegantly or differently is often more effective than trying to do more when you're under stress. And if you combine agitated stress with sitting for long periods, you have a recipe for disaster.
The link between stress and craving stimulants such as caffeine, sugar, and smoking is well-known. That's why it's crucial to make changes to your lifestyle that work for you and can be sustained.
The?WELLculator? framework, which I use with many of my high-performing clients, highlights two of the ten dimensions that can help support your physical wellbeing, which will then optimize your emotional and mental wellbeing.
Sales and many roles go hand in hand with stress, and while not all stress is bad, when it lingers and we don't manage our body chemistry correctly, things can get ugly.

Success in sales, and in life in general, often comes from doing less, more elegantly or differently. Instead of trying to do more, consider taking strategic movements during your day to release pent-up stress hormones, anxiety, and help you sleep better at night.
When you feel stressed, your body releases hormones like adrenaline and cortisol, which build up a sense of agitation in the body. If you combine that with sitting for long periods, you're asking for trouble. That's why it's important to think about how you're moving your body and whether you're bringing in exercise snacks throughout the day. Get creative about how you move and try to get your mind involved in the exercise, so you're present in the moment. Dancing, boxing, tennis, or active yoga are all great options that create a sense of uncertainty and unpredictability, so you have to concentrate on the task at hand.
In short, be curious and creative about how you move your body during the workday.
Avoid sitting for long periods of time, and bring in short bursts of movement through stretching.
Consider taking your body to exertion to release the cortisol and pent-up anxiety that can build up from stress. You don't want that chemistry; you want the chemistry for performance.
So, what's the next step between you and your next level of performance and earnings? It might not be sales training, but rather your body chemistry.
