What is your networking methodology?

What is business networking? This became a major topic that we explored at this week's Adapt Series luncheon. Here is a definition that we explored:
Authentic business networking is building career long mutually beneficial relationships, that are agnostic to where you work, but provide flow on value for your entire career.
We discussed the fact that when you have this intent in mind, which is to look for people with aligned values that you can build career long relationships with, it influences how we speak to each other. We don't go in with the hard sell, but we seek to know and understand the people we talk with. When we then meet people that align with our values, this approach can result in actual business friendships where we want to help each other grow and progress.
It was very interesting to see how closely this discussion aligned with a podcast we have previously published. You can click on the image below to visit Apple Podcasts and have a listen.

Cathie Brown - Well I can highly recommend the food at Siberia, particularly for a vegan. The cabbage rolls were beautiful. I'd recommend people come along because you are networking and meeting with people who are different from your normal spheres, in which you would normally move, and that's always refreshing and rewarding.
Leigh McClusky - I hate the word networking, but I do like meeting interesting and diverse people, so that would be my recommendation, and the food at Siberia is amazing, I reckon I've had the best bit of steak I've ever had today.
David Gerner - I've also enjoyed the food at Siberia, I think it is absolutely incredible, and the wines. The value for me out of networking is being able to listen to some really different perspectives, especially over the last 12 to 18 months on how everyone else has found COVID, and how to recover but like I say enjoy the listing. People should come to the lunches because you learn a lot.
Ginta Orchard - The lunch was a fantastic vegan role, I will be bringing my family back here and I recommend it to everyone. I think a lot of us work and get caught up in our everyday lives and in our space and our work, and it's great to come out and get out of that space and meet people in a different space.
Serge Ambrose - I think the best thing about today is, when you see certain opportunities you can actually bring different people together like from today, there's three people in this room, I need to talk to you about how we can bring things together.
Rebekah Tucker - Well first of all, if you're lucky enough to be invited, then you're sitting with like minded people, where we just have real conversations, and we talked about real things, and then you have a beautiful connection that you can bring up afterwards as a friend, or a connection for life.
Kiara Johnston - Firstly the food is incredible at Siberia, I'll definitely be coming back here again and the company has been incredible. Meeting people today from diverse backgrounds and diverse business and service offerings, I've learned a lot, and I would definitely be happy to come back again.
