I know it can be extremely difficult to find a job today.
It's equally hard to know what to use and what not to use during your job search.
You are getting advice from so many people... who knows who to listen to?
Today I'm putting together a list of Tips and Free services that you can leverage to apply for the right job's and get that phone to ring ??to schedule ?? interviews.
1) My Jobscore
The latest version of MY Jobscore makes it easy to get scored and matched for the newest jobs.
Clink on the photo above and share your resume and email, to discover which jobs you are most suited for.
When you get a high score, download your score pdf copy, and sent it in with your application.
My Jobscore also has a chrome extension that you can use to visit any job posting to get score. Find the My Jobscore chrome extension here ?? chrome web store
2) Easy Apply vs. Apply
First of all, there are 80+ job boards across the globe and it can be overwhelming to know which job board you should use.
Might I suggest using LinkedIn. For those jobseekers in the United States, you are going find almost every job you want to apply for here on LinkedIn.
Easy Apply: ??Do you celebrate when you see the Easy Apply (LinkedIn) or the Apply Now (Indeed) button when you apply?? Yes, it is super easy to apply when you hit the Apply Now or Easy Apply but do you know that most people that use this do not get hired. Let me explain. When you use this feature when applying your application/resume is normally only going to one person and that’s a recruiter. What if they get 400 applications – do you think they are going to review them all? NO, me neither. Sometimes the Easy Apply goes to a third-party recruiter and not a recruiter at the company. Just another reason that the Easy Apply doesn’t always lead to an easy time getting an interview.

Apply: ??When you see the word Apply by a job, we normally know that mean’s it’s going to take you to the Career Portal of that particular company. I do understand that this can be a very long process. But keep this in mind… who gets to potentially see that application when you apply on a company’s Career Portal? – Normally it’s the Recruiter – HR Manager - Hiring Manager – and Hiring Managers Boss that all have access. The more eyes that get to potentially look at your application and or resume the better.

One of the best advantages that LinkedIn has over all other job boards is the ability to quickly see if you have any connections working for the company prior to applying.

??Pro Tip:
You can use what you learned in the Search feature to identify if you have any 2nd degree connections working at the job you want prior to applying.?
3) Networking will most likely be how you land that interview/job opportunity.

Currently LinkedIn has about 880 million members. Leveraging LinkedIn like a database will help you get potential referrals prior to applying for that job.

5) LinkedIn Learning
I’ll be honest, I can’t think of an online platform that’s better suited to helping people develop their professional skills than LinkedIn.
For seriously good reasons.?
The company is synonymous with all things career related. It’s sitting on a wealth of expertise and data that can be mined to deliver life-changing educational content.
And this isn’t me simply reciting LinkedIn’s marketing material. There are some?astonishing stats ?to back up LinkedIn’s reputation as a platform that creates new careers:
If you have LinkedIn Premium, you will have 100% access to LinkedIn Learning.
??I do believe that you can get LinkedIn Premium Free for Military Veterans and some companies provide LinkedIn Learning for FREE to their employees.
There are plenty of other tips I could provide but I do believe that these 5 when implemented will improve your job search and ultimately improve your success in getting the phone to ring to schedule those interviews.
