So there I am, at a recent event listening intently to the speaker as she took us deep into the power of personal branding from her copywriters perspective. She spoke about how when we put our ideal clients first and write our story with them in mind, we’ll naturally engage them. But when we're focused on ourselves and disregard our audience we'll lose them.
Think about it for a moment - ever been at a party and got stuck with that person who only talks about themselves. Their children. Their holiday. Their work...
Boring.
Well, it's the same in business.
Your audience is interested in only one thing - themselves! So everything you do: your words and equally important your images - MUST relate back to your audience.
So how do you do that?
- Don't just choose a photo because you look good or use a photographer who just turns up on the day and takes photos. Be smarter than that - be strategic.
- Get to know your buyers. Go deep and find out what makes them tick and resonates with them.
- Look at yourself - your natural qualities and strengths your ideal clients need to see to know you're the right fit for them.
- Photograph with this in mind and put this information into your images through your body language, expression, your clothes, props, the location or set design, as well as how you edit your images. Everything in your photos is an opportunity to send messages - use it to your advantage.
- Congratulations - go forth and use your photos knowing you're showing your ideal clients the 'YOU' they simply can’t resist doing business with.
