What Are Your Dreams Trying to Communicate?
Do you dream? Well, we all dream. The question should be ‘Do you remember your dreams?’
Most of the people I’ve worked with had no recollection of their dreaming. Sometimes, they’d wake with a vague recollection of something that happened whilst they were sleeping but, as soon as they rolled out of bed, the images would fade and the dreams were lost forever. Which is a pity. Because our dreams offer such a rich array of insights into how we’re living our lives. They provide an extraordinarily precise analysis of how to overcome any challenges we’re facing and find the best way to navigate life’s twisting and often confusing pathway. Dreams are a powerful resource that most of us are ignoring because we haven’t learned how to harvest their extraordinary bounty. Let’s take a closer look.
Let’s begin with a completely counter-intuitive assertion. Despite our pride in the prowess of our conscious minds to understand and direct our lives, the reality is that the vast and largely unseen realm of the unconscious is directing almost every aspect of our experience. Research indicates that around 95 to 99% of everything that we think, feel and do is governed by the subconscious mind. That’s quite a sobering thought. And we’re almost completely unaware of its presence. Yet, one of the best ways to appreciate the all-embracing power of this super-resource is to pay attention to its messages. Some people rely on an uncanny, instinctive intuition that often flows from the depths of the unconscious. But each of us can benefit from the precisely-tailored communications that can be traced to the vast, analytical faculty of our own minds. Dreams are a great way to open the channels for a more efficient and reliable delivery of highly-relevant information.
The good news is that we can all learn to be more receptive to our dreams and develop the super habit of recollecting the details as we wake. It takes a little practice but the benefits are huge. Tell yourself before you sleep that you fully expect to recall your dreams. Keep a notepad and pencil next to the bed to jot down any images, feelings or experiences that linger in your mind as you wake. Take a few moments to gather the images and hold them gently in your mind.

The subconscious mostly seeks to communicate via the language of symbolism. That’s where your emotional reaction to the imagery can help you to understand the deeper significance of the scenes you recall. Dreams are rarely literal. They’re a symbolic interpretation of the situations that are relevant to you. If you can imagine the scale of the subconscious mind’s ability to process truly vast amounts of data, you’ll get a clue about the accuracy that’s employed in the symbolism and imagery. As you become more familiar with the immense power of your dreams, you’ll begin to appreciate the subtlety and multi-layered sophistication of the choice of the imagery displayed. Your dreams could open up a universe of insights and understanding that will transform your experience of every aspect of your life.
Sweet dreams.
