What if your childhood dream comes true?

What if your childhood dream comes true?

What was your dream job when you were a child? And when did that dream die?

Was it when someone said you couldn't earn well enough or provide for your family with that childish dream? Or when someone told you to be realistic? Or when someone laughed and said, this is going to be too hard for you, find something that suits you better?

Time passes and when you are faced with a choice of what to study, you tell your inner child that their dreams are not welcome. That in real life we can't do what we love, we have to do what needs to be done.

It's not like you hate your current job, but you don't necessarily enjoy it either, right? And when the thought of doing more of what you love keeps coming up, you hear the alarm bells "Don't be ridiculous. You don't have time for this. Don't risk everything you've built up so far for pleasure. Nobody likes their job, it's normal."

So, you silence the need of your inner child, again. ??

But in our inner child reside intuition, creativity, spontaneity, and enjoyment. So important qualities for resilience and living an authentic and fulfilled life.

Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we are supposed to be and embracing who we are. – Brene Brown

Love it, hate it, or leave it? You don’t have to quit your well-paid and stable job right now to listen to your inner child and pursue your dream of becoming a football player. There is a meaningful and safe way to integrate some part of it into your current, adult life. Let me show you how.

1?? First step. Do it directly - pursue part of your dream job as a hobby. Did you want to be a musician? That means you can play an instrument well. Find it, play it, even 15min a week will give you so much joy! Did you want to be a veterinarian? Volunteer at a shelter to walk dogs or catch cats on a less busy Sunday morning to take them to the vet for spay/neuter. Wanted to be an astronaut? Find your nearest observatory or take an online astronomy course!

Try it. I assure you; it will feel great and you will want more of it (thanks to the neurotransmitter dopamine, which creates a feeling of joy and motivation as a reward!). Now, with this new energy and drive, move on to the next step.

2?? Second step. Look at what strengths you can identify in your childhood dream job. A desire to help others? Deep interest in science and analysis? Love of adventure and exploring new ideas? Write down at least three to five before moving on to the final step.

3?? Third step. How could you incorporate your identified strengths into your current job? In what way could you do more of what you love?

You don't have to turn your whole life upside down and throw everything away to feel joy at work and ensure a healthy and happy professional life. We have developed a way for you to do it using scientific methods.
