As we all know, last year was a tough one for many. However, there are some positive signs of life out there. For Venquis, our year got off to a fantastic start in all of our global locations. We had some new faces join us in January, and Ama was part of the launch of our hotly anticipated Culture Club - quite the ‘Karma Chameleon’ this one!

We wanted to share some recent data from APSCO, our governing body. The below snapshot provides an overview for permanent and contract vacancies, year-on-year, until December 2023. While numbers are down - and despite lingering challenges from last year - there are several reasons for those looking for a new opportunity to be optimistic as we venture into 2024.

New vacancies and optimism are inextricably linked. In the UK, for example, inflation has fallen substantially, with some financial institutions suggesting that it will fall in line with the Bank of England’s two percent target by April. Equally, a cut in interest rates should help instil greater confidence in the business community.
