What will your career look like in a year's time?

Last Friday we held our annual Client Server awards to celebrate our 2021/22 financial year, toast some personal successes and give the nod to what has been an exceptional year for everyone.  There were some extremely worthy winners of our company-wide awards, with some outstanding achievements.

  • Rookie of the year – Storm Styler
  • Consultant of the year – Rosie – May Parker
  • Employee of the year – Michael Oliver
  • Team of the year – CSR Dev

In a year where records went tumbling, it’s hard to choose a winner for each category when there are so many worthy contenders, but that’s a great problem to have, right? Multiple genuine contenders for each award underline how well people and teams have performed this year.

One of the things that have stood out for me over the last year has been the overriding feeling of positivity and everyone enjoying other people’s success. Don’t get me wrong, it would be weird if in a competitive sales environment, people were running around high fiving every deal or minor achievement.

But when you take a moment to look around at how well people have done this year, how far they have come, whether they joined as trainees, have been a top biller or have led teams with aplomb, there has been a glut of standout performers and performances, too many to mention.

The core of our business is strong, hungry to achieve more and in a beautiful position to catapult us into the next stage and growth of Client Server success. There is an army of hungry consultants waiting to take advantage of the market, earn a commission, get promoted and take on their own teams.

With all this positivity and success, you can sometimes be slightly clouded in your thinking, only have a rose-tinted view of the future and not take a moment to focus on the job at hand.

What has been a real struggle is hiring not only for our clients but also for us. Our Internal Team has worked tirelessly and has done an outstanding job. They have hired 37 people and had an overwhelmingly high success rate of over 75%, exceptional in any sales environment but especially in recruitment. But it’s been tough finding the quality and volume of people we are looking for, and this is the one thing we really can’t let hold us back this year. 

This sales year, we are planning at least two more trainee intakes, with a big focus on our next one starting at the end of June. With recruitment proving more popular every year, this is an excellent opportunity for anyone to start their career. 

A number of trainees from the last year have been promoted once, some even twice.
