What is your 2021 Vision?
We would all agree that 2020 was a different and challenging year. We have now entered a new year, a new decade. The world is still and will continually be a difficult place to live in these last days. It doesn't mean we should not dream and plan. Yes, plans will get disrupted and many things won't go the way we envision, however, the Word of the Lord still remains.
"Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he." Proverbs 29:18 KJV
So I want to encourage you as you step into a new year, if you haven't already, work on your vision. What does the vision look like? It's very easy when looking for work or spending our time with certain people or activities to get off track, get distracted. No matter what your current situation may look like, take hold of the vision, the very word that is deep inside of you and pursue it with great passion.
Personally, I have been through many great challenges in my life. I have known abuse (narcissistic), betrayal, financial lack, health issues, relationship issues, special needs and more. The Lord has done a deep work in my life and has healed me of so much. He has taught me many lessons, mostly of just how great and wide and deep his everlasting love is. He is a God of second chances and He will pursue the wayward until they come home. He has taught me a lot about how we as his children have left our first love and sought after things of the flesh, breaking his heart immensely. Through my own brokenness I have been able to get a greater glimpse into the heart of God and how he feels when we lack vision and break covenant relationship.
COVID is not the problem in the world but it has brought a lot of things to the surface. Families are broken, individuals are lost. People have lost the vision for their lives and their families. There is however, hope. Our God is a God of restoration and always longs to restore and rebuild that which is broken or destroyed.
Whatever it is we are called to do, we can all do something that has great value in bringing about positive change in the world, not just for ourselves but also others.
The Lord keeps bringing to me Nehemiah and the rebuilding of the walls. If I was to sum up my vision for 2021 in one word, it would be "Rebuilding." I am called to rebuild the walls - help bring restoration to broken people, particularly women and in turn the restoration of families.
What is your vision for 2021? I'd love to hear what your "one word" is in the comments below. Let us be excited about the year ahead and encourage one another to do greater works no matter what may come our way.
Be blessed.
