What are you Worth?

Story (Source "Dare to do. Motivation).

One day a young boy asked his father what is the value of his life. Instead of answering, the father told his son to take some rocks and go sell it in the market. If anybody asked the price, raise two fingers and don't say a word. The boy went to the market and a woman asked; how much is this rock? I want to put it in my garden! Without a word from the boy, the woman offered $2. The boy ran back home and told his father. His father sent him to a museum, with same instructions, where he was offered $200. He ran back home and he was sent back to a precious stone dealer who replied, "Where did you find this stone? It is one of the rarest stones in the world. The man offered $200K. Without knowing what to say, he ran back home to his father and narrated the story. His father now asked; "Son, do know the value of your life now?"

Lessons:

1. It doesn't matter where you come from, where you were born, the colour of your skin or how much money you were born into. It matters where you decide to place yourself...the people you surround yourself with and how you choose to carry yourself.

2. You may have lived your whole life thinking you were a $2 stone. You may have lived (worked) your whole life surrounded by people that saw your worth only for $2, but everybody has a diamond inside of them and we can choose to surround ourselves with people that see our value and see our diamond inside of us. We can choose to put ourselves in a market or put ourselves in a precious stone store.

3. You can also choose to see the value in other people. You can help other people see the diamond inside of them.

4. Choose the people you surround yourself with wisely, that can make all the difference in your life!
