What If You Work Til You’re 150!

The era of extreme life-extension is here, spear-headed by a multitude of experts in their related fields, though I suspect you’re most likely to have heard of Ray Kurzweil, author of New York Times best selling book The Singularity is Near. If you’re curious about him make sure to read his bio on Wikipedia and note that his genius is currently under contract to none other than Google!
Why do I mention Kurzweil? To legitimize “extreme life extension” before I support the belief that if you are healthy now, and you intend to live a very long life, it’s estimated by the likes of Kurzweil and his colleagues that you’ll have a very good chance of living into your mid-100s - in other words - until 150 or so.
So, given this possibility and perhaps probability, what do you want to do with all those additional healthy, productive years?
Some of you will say some version of “retire.”You’ll want to travel, play golf, be with the family, etc. And that’s totally fine if that works for you.
But many of you will want to remain and/or become more productive, creative, inventive, and perhaps even entrepreneurial.
As you read this, are you beginning to worry about the invisible ageist glass ceiling that could hold you back? If so, then think about Ray Kurzweil. At this writing he’s’ 68. Think Dame Judi Dench. She’s 81. Think Stephen Hawking. He’s 74. Think Gloria Steinem. She’s 82.
Of course I could go on and on and on. But you get the point. Some people keep growing as they age, rather than just growing old. And if that’s what you aspire to do, then it’s imperative to have a sense of purpose that drives you to keep going, to keep growing, to keep giving us all you’ve got!
My husband Jim Sniechowski, PhD and I both believe in and are dedicated to extreme life extension. In fact, we will be speaking at RAADFest 2017 - Revolution Against Aging and Death - that will take place in San Diego, California August 2017.
And now, about you! What do you aspire to do---given that you may have 100 or more years of productivity and creativity in front of you! I’m looking forward to reading your comments.

Judith Sherven, PhD and her husband Jim Sniechowski, PhD https://JudithandJim.com have developed a penetrating perspective on people’s resistance to success, which they call The Fear of Being Fabulous. Recognizing the power of unconscious programming to always outweigh conscious desires, they assert that no one is ever failing—they are always succeeding. The question is, at what? To learn about how this played out in the life of Whitney Houston for example, and how it may be playing out in your own life, check out their 6th book: https://WhatReallyKilledWhitneyHouston.com
Currently consultants on retainer to LinkedIn providing transformational executive coaching, leadership training and consulting as well as working with other corporate and private clients around the world, they continually prove that when unconscious beliefs are brought to the surface, the barriers to greater success and leadership presence begin to fade away. 8 年Thought-provoking. The question, to me, is: when I love it, it is "work"? What we love, that we could do forever - especially when it serves others and we are rewarded accordingly.
