What you wish to see, you need to be.

We see "signs" and we think they mean something. We see this company doing that and we think, "This is it... This is the trigger point. I can apply. I can do this now". Our hope, the execution, the extension, the implementation of our values rides on that sign. That shooting star. Let us follow that.
But this sign... is an outcome. It is the finished product of what they want us to see. A carefully orchestrated dance.
You follow that shooting star and you come to a stable and you think... "This is it. Now the world will change. It will change tomorrow, It will materialise my hope... if not tomorrow, soon. In my life-time, for my children".
Savouring this sign hanging above that bud, that promise of beauty and creation ... on that smell of freshly made bread you imagine what banquet will follow and you want to join and you want to buy this... and shout out to the world and you do...
But your timing, is not our timing, your hope is not our hope, my budding flower does not care about you. I also have shareholders and corporate score cards... Did I just take away poetry here?
Did I just shatter the mirror? The harsh reality cutting in you? And you persist... bleeding, the shards sticking in you, you shout, but surely this means something?
Long after crucifixions, when all the signs are gone, nothing is really happening is it? No magic kingdom. Dreams are covered with dust.
People, nations still believe and change things whether inspired or not by those signs...
A man saying that things can be different. A stupid few following him. A car into space, a limb regrown from a mere cell... It can mean just that: a happening in time.
It remains your fight. Don't stop. Be the change.

5 年Very beautiful to read this on a Friday morning. Let us all be the architects of our own lives, listen for the complaints and hear it as what is not working to drive us to strive forwards into the change to make it better.

5 年Ghandi summarised it best ‘Be the change you want to see in the world’. And he started the genesis of what has become the largest democracy the world has seen.
