What If You Thought this Way in 2024?

Universe is energy. Disengage from what’s material. Let go, let be, enjoy

Isa Vasya Upanishad

?

When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me

Speaking words of wisdom, let it be

Beatles

Beatles had great spiritual intelligence. Let Go, Let Be are mantra as powerful as AUM. These are the most important competencies of spiritual coaching for holistic wellness.

?

More people and more often come to me asking why they are not feeling fulfilled and how they could be. They have almost all they want, far more than what they need. Some at thirty have more money than some countries. Some have power others would kill for. Yet, they wonder what they do and why.

?

I have no answers for them. I am not a therapist or a consultant. That’s not my vocation as a spiritual coach, a word that is not yet in the lexicon. I would like to help people feel well, cognitively, emotionally, sensorily, and most importantly spiritually, and as a result holistically. To be well spiritually and holistically, one must have a purpose and meaning in life, believe and love oneself while loving all others around them. Simple, but not easy. Greed, fear and ego stand in the way. People I refer to need to be spiritually well with a purpose in life.

?

‘What if’ is the third powerful word I would suggest adding to ‘Let go’ and ‘Let be’. It helps reframe, a powerful spiritual coaching technique. Let’s explore these ‘What if’ thoughts that have helped me often, and may perhaps work for you.

?

What if I Do Not know

?

At one level we all are energy with infinite potential. So is everyone else. So, in what way are we better, superior to another or know more? The moment we drop our ego and accept what Isa vasya Upanishad says, ‘see oneself in others and see others in Self’ we gain spiritual intelligence and humility dropping our ego.

?

Accepting and practising not knowing is a key tenet of spiritual coaching and self-coaching. This allows us to be more present and available to work towards the needs of others. Leadership excellence is about the confidence to say ‘I don’t know’ and look for those who know more.

?

What If This Could Be Worse

?

However bad we may think our situation is, there are others in worse situations. We could have been in a worse place. This is not thinking like a loser; in fact, the opposite. Think of it this way. There can only be an upside to where you are. Even the darkest night is followed by a sunrise. Work towards how you can make things better for yourself and others.

?

Life is never even and certain. This doesn’t mean our minds need to become turbulent. Disengagement and equanimity teach us resilience and grit, making us emotionally and spiritually intelligent. We can spiritually coach ourselves to reframe our perception of the situation we are in.

?

What If We Listen and Listen Again

?

We mostly assume. We assume based on past conditioned experiences. We decide and act judgmentally. We hear but don’t listen. Start listening. Listen not merely with your ears but with all senses and the mind, and learn. Every interaction has something we can learn from if only we listen. Curious, empathetic, non-judgemental and generative listening fosters spiritual coaching of oneself and others.

?

Otto Scharmer’s Theory U transformational movement from absencing to presencing is about listening and sensing, with the mind, heart and will. Actions arising from such a mindset would be non-judgmental, non-cynical and fearless, qualities of leadership excellence.

?

What If You Ask the Universe What it Wants of You and Why? ?

?

Let go of seeking things based on your wants and move to what the Universe wants of you. None of us is an island, as John Dunne said. We are connected, and in a Quantum Science sense entangled. What impacts us will also impact others. Start thinking systemically about others connected to you and their needs in addition to yours. Selfishness gives way to selflessness in spiritual intelligence.

?

When we can ask ‘What does the universe want of me’, we start spiritually coaching ourselves. We expand our horizons beyond our locus of control. We invite other energies to come in. Our potential and performance multiply. We collaborate, co-create and achieve leadership excellence systemically.

What If We Accept in Gratitude

?

Surrender in a material sense is to lose. Surrender is the spiritual intelligence of winning. We can never lose when we accept our limitations of locus of control. We can only win when we accept that there is a higher energy that knows more and can guide us to fulfilment and joy. Accept this and express gratitude. This is the essence of spiritual coaching.

?

Every religion, with every founder, started knowing that we are holographic fragments of a higher cosmic energy, which when we accept elevates us in evolution. ?Unfortunately, human greed and fear lead us astray. We believe that for us to win another must lose. When we accept in gratitude that everyone can win and benefit if we collaborate and not compete, this world will be sustainable for our progeny.

?

Spiritual Coaching Reflection

?

A life lesson I learned from my mother was this. Do not ask the universe to give you a free ride, a ride free of trouble. That will never happen. Pray to that higher power you believe in to hold your hand. That will happen.

?

Start your 2024 with this belief. You will never lose.

Deep reflective read Ram S. Ramanathan MCC. Thank you. 'what if' reframing is indeed so powerful. 'let the universe give you' vs 'asking what I want' - this looks like a current debate. Your words give a fresh perspective to 'surrendering'. Dots are connecting.

This is deep and reflective Ram. As a generation I feel I still hv some connect with spirituality but as a parent it gets me to think, am I doing enough for the next generation to keep that connect and will they eventually miss that connect? They are growing in a very materialistic world and this seems way too fuzzy for them when discussed .. Any thoughts on how we can inculcate this more and coach them to this journey.

?Thank you Ram, for the inspiring new year message.?Since I read it yesterday, I have been reflecting on “what if”… Great reminder to surrender and accept that there is a higher energy that knows more and can guide us to fulfilment, joy and to express gratitude. I pray to that higher power to handhold as I think systemically and charter into new territories in 2024.

We are fortunate to have grown in environments where deep spiritual knowledge is smeared during daily conversations. Do not ask the universe to give you a free ride, a ride free of trouble. That will never happen. Pray to that higher power you believe in to hold your hand. That will happen. The above extract from the post is one and I can personally connect to similar messages being a norm in conversations as I grew up. What a fortune it is to have been in close association with great , yet simple souls!!!!
