Well after all the laughter died down and everyone had a chance to have a second look, the Trump campaign realised they blew it when they designed the original Trump - Pence logo (on the left). Having the interlocked "TP" as part of the logo really gave the comedians fodder that they frankly did not even need.
My question is, what were they thinking? Who on the team took a moment to look at this logo and really think about it? Really, it amazes me at times to look at logos and wonder what people were thinking when they were designed.
Things that you should consider when developing a new logo:
- Is it readable?
- Will it be recognisable?
- Does it help cement your brand into the minds of your clients?
- Do the colours tell the right story? (INFOGRAPHIC)
- Is the image too close to a competitor's logo that is already out there?
- It is memorable?
- Does it help people remember your story?
Take the time to really think about your logo. It is the last piece that should be developed when creating your brand and it should help people remember your message and value.
