What you Think is Hard is Easy and What You Think is Easy is Hard

What you Think is Hard is Easy and What You Think is Easy is Hard

I was watching a motivational video one time where Les Brown International (Les Brown) said "if you do the hard stuff now, life will be easy" and "if you do what is easy, life will be hard". Very motivating.

This week's newsletter won't be about the usual buying & selling businesses but instead will be about understanding the mindset with income generation.

Regardless of how you look at the debate between working for yourself (self employment), being a business owner or being an employee, It is hard either way.

You think it is as simple as putting in a job application, getting an interview and then getting the job? Supposedly they make it look like it is easy because you just sit back and wait for things to happen.

It is anything but easy. Once you are in the job, it looks easy because you supposedly have the "steady paycheck" until one day it comes crashing down without notice.

  1. Your steady paycheck stops and then you become frantic as to how you are going to pay your rent, food, utilities etc.
  2. You have savings (and maybe quite a bit) but then it all disappears in the blink of an eye to pay your personal overhead. I didn't have to work while that happened! You became lazy.
  3. If you put in job applications, your time is disrespected by future employers, and most likely you won't even be paid what you should be because of the mindless "depending on experience" games employers play today.

The self employed have it freaking hard too.

  1. They have to constantly market their business which is an absolute time suck with all the tools, money & moving parts needed to get noticed by anyone.
  2. Dealing with all kinds of clients that could make your life miserable.
  3. Feeling constant overwhelm easily.

The business owners have it harder.

  1. Constant regulations, taxes & uncertainty to worry about.
  2. Businesses get expensive to operate.
  3. Talent is a difficult game to manage.

I am just sticking to three for each category to make it simple. The point is this:

What will you put up with in order to survive? Will you take the easy way out? Will you do something difficult and painful in order to have it easy later?
