What you should pay attention to when using RV batteries.

We need electricity and water in our life. In the RV, If no water, you can buy it on the road, but if there is no electricity, then you can’t do anything. Let’s talk about the lithium battery on the RV today. The capacity of lithium battery is higher than that of traditional batteries.

Pay attention to the normal use and maintenance of the battery. Some car owners rarely use their RVs. In fact, most RVs do not commute for a long time. Only will be driven on weekends when there are free to go on a road trip.

If the car does not start, the battery will remain unused for a long time. You must turn off all the power on the RV, and check whether there is any discharge current in the battery. If there is, it means that you have not turned off all the electrical appliances. Don't think that turning off some high-power electrical appliances is enough, actually low-power electrical appliances can also drain the battery.

The built-in battery may already have an over-discharge protection function, but if you leave it there for a long time with zero power, it will also affect the life of the battery, or even starve the battery to death, and it will not be able to charge or discharge. Batteries are chemical products, and they need to be long-time use to maintain a relatively active state, otherwise the chemical substances of the battery will shorten their life.

When not in use, perform a power replenishment operation every 2 to 3 months.

If the battery has bulges, odors, noises, smoke, etc., do not use it anymore. Call the manufacturer immediately for a free replacement. If the battery short-circuits and spontaneously ignites, please stay away immediately and do not try to extinguish it.

Which environment is more suitable for storing batteries? The ideal storage temperature is between 5 and 20 degrees, with a maximum of no more than 50 degrees. Therefore, try to park the RV in a shaded place, or put a protective cover on the RV to avoid high temperature in summer.

The environment for storing the battery should be kept dry, and the battery should not be placed in a damp and leaky place, the window and skylight should be closed. If the battery does not have the function of soaking water and waterproofing, it is best to pay attention to preventing the battery from being scrapped due to heavy rain.

In case of rain, water will leak into the battery and cause a short circuit. All kinds of flammable, combustible, and explosive items are not allowed to be placed next to the battery. Once there is a problem with these items, they will react more violently with the battery. New and old batteries should also be stored separately.

The design capacity of the power system of the RV is 3000W, and the inverter can ensure the normal operation of high-power electrical appliances such as air conditioners and induction cookers. But the power system will be overstressed. Try not to use high-power electrical appliances at the same time, especially not to turn them on at the same time. Short-term high current will cause the battery to short-circuit and cause danger.

Pay attention to the limitation of power consumption, and do not use high-power electrical appliances at the same time. When you turn on the air conditioner, turn on the induction cooker to cook and eat, and use a hair dryer at the same time, it will cause excessive current, trigger the power protection system, and the power will be cut off and over-protected. RV batteries are bulky and expensive to repair, and the ordinary consumers can't even send them back to the original factory for repairs.

The energy in the RV is very precious. Small appliances often leak electricity, and appliances with standby functions often run out of electricity without knowing it.

A small mosquito killer consumes 20AH in one night, and it is only turned on when it needs to be cultivated, and it is turned off immediately when it is not in use, so as to avoid wasting unnecessary energy.

Finally, I would like to remind you that there are protection elements inside and outside the battery of the RV, which constitute a double insurance system. The integration of the internal components is controlled by the BMS, and there is an air switch on the outside.

After short circuit and overload, it will be protected. If the current is too large, the air switch will be turned off, and we need to reset it manually. Batteries are the most important energy source for RVs.
