“The Humanity @ Work Cohort was a great foundation for more comprehensive DEIB efforts at Philanthropy U. The course was informative, challenging (in all the right ways!), well-paced, and provided great templates and structures for us to build on. It was also incredibly valuable to consider the varying issues and best practice among the cohort, from non-profits to small businesses and city governments. I highly recommend it to any organization looking to kick off, or level up, their DEIB efforts.”

Why I created Humanity @ Work (H@W)
As I launched consulting services earlier this year, I found that many of the exploratory calls I had with potential clients fell into one of two categories. They were caring leaders who either:
1) had no clarity on what their true outcomes were OR
2) were rigidly holding tight to what they thought they needed (“right now, we really just need unconscious bias training ASAP,” for example).
I wanted to empower leaders to have a clearly articulated vision for inclusion from which to build (and measure) employee engagement, education, and—eventually—workflow processes. I also wanted to cultivate a place for cross-organizational community, collective learning, and problem-solving support.
What This Program Is
A 5 week introductory program to launch a sustainable, internal DEI strategy within a budget-friendly consultant structure. Your weekly H@W sessions and self-study assignments are designed to educate and empower you as an internal project lead. Using a 4-part framework, you’ll build a solid foundation from which to launch a thoughtful inclusion initiative (that will likely still require more external expertise in the future).
What This Program Isn’t
An end-all, be-all “cure” (or the whole of your budget) for inclusion and/or anti-racism efforts, especially if your leadership team is not ready to truly prioritize this work.
What You'll Learn
- Why employee engagement matters
- Core components of a strong DEIB plan (signature 4-part framework)
- How to get buy-in from leadership
- The power in starting with the WHY
- Why having an external community and regular dialogue in this work is powerful
- How to form a team and create sustainable integration into workflow
