What You Should Know About The DIN4000 And ISO/TS13399 Standard Projects in November 2022
CIMSOURCE is involved in DIN4000 and ISO/TS13399 Standard projects.
On the DIN level, we are heading the Adhoc group for developing the DIN4000-103 Cutting data (Speeds and feeds). On the 27th of September 2022 a meeting was held with the different committee participants from the tool manufacturing sector as well as the data user side. Properties relevant for the data exchange and examples of datasets were discussed. This standard serves a mean to provide basic speeds and feeds that a user can start from in his machining process. The challenge in this standard lies in the volume of data in relation to data precision. If precise data for a single use case is pursued, the number of datasets per a single use case or per tool that should be provided by the manufacturer would be in the order of 100000s. If properties were to be defined in way to reduce the number of possible data sets, the definitions of those properties would become too broad and unprecise. A middle way must be found.?The draft was introduced in the DIN meeting.
On the ISO/TS13399 level, we are heading the Adhoc group for developing the ISO13399-90. On the 17th of November 2022 a meeting was held with the different committee participants from the tool manufacturing sector. An example container file was discussed, altered to meet the current status of the standard. Definitions of the elements in the bundle file was enhanced. In the next meeting a decision??will be made?about whether to use an XSD or DTD file.
