What You See Is NOT Real. It's Just One Of The Many Hats Your Therapist Wears!

A Psychologist is a role. And in that "role" the therapist wears "a hat" his psychologist's hat. It's like Sally Field wore a habit in her role as a nun (The Flying Nun 1967-1970) In real life she was very pregnant with her first child!!! So many patients, myself included, fell in-love with their psychologist because he was kind and empathic and listened intently to them. But what they didn't know was he was "playing a role" How the psychologist is outside that role is a totally different person, and really a stranger, that the patient doesn't know at all. It's very easy to get the two confused.

This is why the onus ALWAYS FALLS on the psychologist NOT to cross the boundary and get involved with their patients. The psychologist gets to know the patient first-hand. It is the vulnerable patient exposing themselves in the therapy. This is the whole point of therapy, to bring all your parts, and broken pieces into the therapy room. It is the role of the therapist to listen and sort it all out.

The complete shock I had when I became sexual with my psychologist for two years was to find out he was a totally different person OUTSIDE of his therapy office. Not too many people really knew him, including collogues and friends. And NONE of his other patients did. He disguised himself well. For one thing he had NO empathy at all. He was narcissistic. He was physically and emotionally abusive to me, too. He was self-centered and wrapped up in himself, unlike his role as a therapist when he listened empathically.

You can go to a psychologist for decades and never know them. Remember this! I have still NOT recovered from the trauma of the sexual abuse. And it burns me to know that most people still see him as a hero!!! I have spent the last nine years writing books about my unique experiences. I will post the links below:
