What You See In Others Is A Reflection Of You

What You See In Others Is A Reflection Of You

Not gonna lie, this is really personal and embarrassing to post! But that is when I know that I really should post it. ??

As some of you may know, I am one of Sam Ovens students and I consider him to be my mentor. During his Consulting Accelerator program, he has you create a collage of people you look up to. He then has you write the character traits that you admire about them at the top. And finally title it, “The [your name] Identity.”

For years I’ve been doing this mindset routine (this is just part of it) and I never understood this one page until now...

You see, I recently learned that what you see in others is a reflection of you. ?? You can’t see something in someone else that you don’t have a part of within you, and that’s why we all perceive different people differently.

So after years of thinking, “Okay cool, these people that I look up to are successful, charismatic, entrepreneurial, motivated, disciplined, etc.” A light bulb went on…

?? I realized… “I am successful, I am charismatic, I am entrepreneurial, I am motivated, I am disciplined, etc.”

What a shift!! My mind is blown. ??

And the reason I’m sharing this realization with you is so that you can try using it for yourself!

Make a collage of the people you look up to for one reason or another. What characteristics do you admire about them?

Now take a moment to understand, that all of those things are within YOU. Let it sink in. And use this new understanding to spur you forward toward your potential. ??

This was a ?? realization for me as well! Truly a game changing shift in mindset that fell into the category of "that which has been seen cannot be unseen". It helped to end cyclic validation and advance to actually APPLYING knowledge and experience. Brilliant article, thank you for sharing it! ??
