What you see depends on where you stand

What you see depends on where you stand

Last night, I stood for a while watching the setting sun's reflection down the valley.

From here, halfway up the hill, I can see a lot of sky. And, if I am patient in my watching, the weather fronts are clear.

VIEWPOINT

It matters

where we stand,

the direction

we face. It shapes

our attention, and

colours our language.

Otherwise, we

assume we see it all.

Pause, see differently, ?

re-story, repeat.

+ Sue Heatherington

I am sensing the challenge to be more intentional about where I stand.

How about you?

Pause. See differently. Re-story ??

Beautiful - as usual - sister. And I'm taking direct quote from a complexity and sense-making course I'm in when I say "It’s not about ‘solving’ or ‘fixing’, but about reorienting and responding"... ...and of course when I've "finished" reorienting and responding, guess what I get to do next? Something an awfully lot like reorienting and responding, ad infinitum. Or...? Pause, see differently, re-story, repeat. So much love.

“Patience” is something I get to practice when things happen differently from what I prefer. It is a great time to “watch” as you suggest Sue Heatherington Although it would be really hard work, I hope you consider that daily reflections book that pairs your photographs with the writing (you can include other’s writing if it’s too overwhelming. I’d buy the first copy!
