What you resist persists

“Only if I were to find a job with a better Boss”, “Only if I had a spouse who understood me better”, “Only if there was a way to run away from the misery of an abusive spouse”, “Only if I had a chance to run away from financial crunch”; how many times have such thoughts crossed our minds?
We are all faced with situations that we wish never happened and when they happen, all we can think of is ways and means to escape them. Life is a journey full of such experiences and situations, when the best way to maintain our sanity is to dream how wonderful it would be if this would all go away magically in an instant. How blessed we would be if there were ways of avoiding such situations completely!
However, our effort to flee away from the situation is like an avoidance response to the situation. When we avoid a problem, a conflict, an adversity, we are trying to resist making any efforts to change the situations. At such a time we do not realize that the universal principle of “what you resist persists” is in action.
How do you learn not to resist and rather to PERSIST in the situation?

6 年Have you already take the tranformational personnel course? There, they talked exactly about “what you resist, persists”, I have learned to accept what it is and flow, sometimes it is not so easy, but also it is not so difficult if you want to look forward.
