In my previous article I made an attempt to understand that is it really important to love what you do? (https://www.dhirubhai.net/pulse/important-love-what-you-do-pragya-singh ) and much as you have suspected already, the answer that I deduced was a big fat YES! Following the thread, the thought that strikes my mind now is since I know that it is indeed important to love your work and what you do. So in order to live up to this unconditional affection :P ,it is also important to figure out what you love to do in general, then pick it up and run with it (hmmm well as I write this an old saying that I believe goes as a parallel quote with this line of thought resonates in my mind that is- Do what you love, and love what you do. It has kind of started to make sense but not completely. But more on this later, so back to where we left). So in order to feel such strong connection and desire for something you first need to know what it is? In other words, you needs to what are you passionate about?
" Some people know what want to do,
Others discover it."
The journey to discover ones Passion
As simple as the word 'Passion' sounds, we should not underestimate the power of what it means when it comes down to putting a finger on the 'one' by an individual to define what it is for her. Just the other day while having a conversation with my friend on this subject and trying to understand whether she knows what it is for her I asked her -
"Given whatever it is that you dream as to how your ideal job/work should provide you (for instance an administrative position in the organization or say a better living of standard or a secure life or for that matter job providing an easy transfer/relocation policy to suit your requirement etc. depending on your requirement and fitting in the kind of life that you imagine to live) is destined to be taken care of so you are covered in that respect and you know it, now tell me what is that thing or activity that you would like to or rather love to do as a source of engagement on a day to day basis?"
Phew! thankfully I'm able to put it in words here but trust me it was a task to convince her to be able to set this background as it must be for you right now I believe :P Anyhow, after much deliberation she got the background and here's the reply I got - "If that happens, I would love to make and develop print designs as a part of my day routine, and I know that in the worst case scenario this is something I can bank upon as it is my strength and something that I comes naturally to me (by that it in no manner means that I don't need to brush my skills but yes I really enjoy the process of it and it works for me likewise)." And honestly, I was stumped by the clarity of her reply! It was so clear in her mind and that was so surprising to me :)
So with this story I'm going to leave this article with the same question to the readers to understand how many of you have this clarity for yourself. And if you do, please don't forget to drop in the comment section below with What is it that you love doing or you are passionate about (given that everything else you need is taken care of) and will pick this thread up from where I'm leaving for the rest us who don't :)
Until next time x
