I've coached many people in person and currently online, accumulating more than a thousand hours of coaching under the hood. I want to be clear this is not a week's process (a quick fix) it’s a lifestyle. It's a journey, not a destination.
Remember, we are all different, and we require a different approach.
There are four pillars to consider when it comes to losing weight:
Regarding activity:
Depending on your preference (I prefer weight training), weight training is very beneficial. It can increase your strength, muscle mass, bone density, and metabolic rate, meaning you will burn more calories while at rest.
For those who don't exercise, walking is recommended. You can walk around where you live or walk to work, shops, etc. Establish an easy activity to begin with, such as 1-3 workouts or 30 minutes of walking daily.

Regarding nutrition:
There is no special diet apart from a calorie deficit. People who tried keto, eliminated carbs, practised intermittent fasting, etc., and lost weight might not realize that they ate less than usual, created a calorie deficit, and lost weight.
Some of these diets are hard to sustain, leading to a return to old food choices and weight regain.
I don't say don't do them; if you find them enjoyable, go for it—personal preference.
People with metabolic conditions such as diabetes should follow recommended diets from their doctors or dietitians.
Habits
Habits are building blocks of character and dictate our day-to-day behaviours. Building good habits that support your health and fitness goals is a long process, and you have to do it strategically.
I suggest beginning with habit swapping. Instead of eliminating habits, swap the current ones.
Most bad habits form because of boredom or stress. For example, if you tend to eat chocolates after a long stressful day, replace them with something more suitable for your goals, such as a protein bar or protein yoghurt—something that is both satisfying and aligns with your objectives.
Hydration
Water can be really helpful for weight loss. It is 100% calorie-free, helps you burn more calories, and may even suppress your appetite if consumed before meals.
PRO TIP: HIRE A COACH. Coaches can understand your lifestyle and guide you through a sustainable approach, identifying key areas.
I've hit the wall numerous times before getting guidance from expert people. It makes a huge difference to hire someone who has all this valuable knowledge.
Prices are always affordable, and it's one-to-one support. Not a magic pill, a real process and coaching. Your chances for success increase dramatically when you hire a coach to hold you accountable, do all the planning for you, track your progress, provide nutrition guidance, etc
