Life After Tech book

The book is available in multiple digital, print, and audiobook formats. If you've read some or all of it, and especially if you've benefitted from the book, please leave a review on Amazon and/or GoodReads! You don't have to have bought it from Amazon to review it there.

"You don't need to leave tech to appreciate Life After Tech. In fact, with all the recent layoffs happening in the industry, this book can reaffirm your resolve to stay—at least for now. Before I dive into my review, I want to give a small disclaimer: I'm going to compare this book to The Artist's Way because, for me, it was equally eye-opening. Much like The Artist's Way, which offers a journey towards rediscovering creativity (which is very important to me), Life After Tech provided a framework for reflection and healing that I didn’t realize I needed. The first few chapters were not only cathartic but also very deeply validating, helping me process the emotional aftermath of being laid off. What made Life After Tech especially useful were the exercises. Along with the audiobook version, which allowed me to reflect during my walks with my dogs, I’d listen while walking and then return home to journal or work through the exercises. Similar to The Artist's Way, Life After Tech offers practical exercises that help you process the content and inspiring introspection, deepening its personal impact for me. This book didn’t just inspire introspection; it gave me a tangible way to confront the many unknowns and make the future less scary for me. It also reaffirms the importance of Core Personal Qualities, reminding me that the strengths I developed in my tech career are just as valuable in other areas of my life. Ultimately, this book reaffirms that my worth isn’t tied to any specific job title or industry. More than just a guide, it instilled a sense of excitement about new paths and possibilities whether I decide to stay in tech or not!"
"For folks feeling beaten by the tech job market, this is a validating little book that will help you get in the right headspace when you're feeling low. Don't expect a formula for success, but the book encourages some introspection that is helpful for people feeling stuck. It reads like a conversation with a friend."
