What You May Have Missed In January

What You May Have Missed In January

Wrap Up of January 2022

Yes, it’s been a bit since I published a LinkedIn Newsletter, but I am back!

I have been very lucky to have had the opportunity to create quite a few new courses since the LinkedIn Learning studios shut down due to the pandemic almost 2 years ago. This includes a new Introduction to Bluebeam Revu 20 course that is meant to get people up and running fast with Revu, five new occupational safety and health courses, a course on modifying the office for return to work, and two new courses in my construction management series: one on virtual design and construction and another on modular construction. The LinkedIn Learning production team has obviously done an incredible job pivoting and perfecting options for remote recording!

In addition, I was selected to be in the inaugural group of LinkedIn Creators to participate in the new Creator Accelerator Program. The short explanation of that is that I am posting much more content on LinkedIn, including more video content. This video content includes quick video answers to questions I get in my Bluebeam courses (posted every Monday), short safety and health clips, and more.

Since its not always easy to find these posts when you are scrolling through your LinkedIn feed, I have decided to use this newsletter format as an easy way to keep you updated on what I am posting. I will send this newsletter out twice a month to let you know what you may have missed in the previous two weeks, and to let you know what’s coming up.

Speaking of what’s coming up, I am also in the initial group that has access to the new Audio Events feature on LinkedIn. This is a Clubhouse style format that is much more interactive than the current LinkedIn Live video format, and it is much easier to set up and participate. Because attendees can easily raise their hand, unmute, and participate in the conversation, I am going to be using it for Office Hours Live, every Wednesday during the month of February, at 9:30am MST. This will be an “ask-me-anything” format (well…almost anything…maybe limit it to my course topics) where I will be on-line for an hour each Wednesday for learners to drop in, ask questions, and discuss course topics on LinkedIn Learning. See the dates and links at the end of this newsletter to sign up for one and come check it out!

New Courses

You can always find all of my LinkedIn Learning courses on my instructor page here, but I would like to highlight the new subject matter courses that we have published in the last year. ?

I spent several years as the Director of the OSHA Training Institute Education Center when I worked at Arizona State University, which allowed me to really expand my reach past construction safety and health and out into general occupational health and safety. After much discussion, I was able to convince my content manager to pursue courses on safety and health on LinkedIn Learning. The response to these courses has been incredible with thousands of learners watching the courses in just the first year since publication. These courses include:

PPE - 18,600 learners
Working in the Heat - 29,500 learners
?Slips Trips and Falls - 95,000 learners
Haz Comm (GHS) - 5,000 learners
Bloodborne Pathogens - 2,300 learners

These are general hazard awareness and best practice courses that can apply to people across any industry and I look forward to expanding this topic on LinkedIn Learning.

What Else Is New?

I mentioned all that new content that I am posting every week on LinkedIn. If you use Bluebeam Revu, check out the Q&A and How To video posts from January:

Find the Punchlist Tool Set
Export Quantity Take-offs to Excel
Export Data from Digital Forms

I also posted an update on all the Covid related (Federal) regulations that have been on-again, off-again, in the U.S., so check that out here if you have lost track.

Be on the lookout for more! You can always check out my recent activity on my LinkedIn profile page here, and I will keep this newsletter going twice a month to send you a summary. If you are not already subscribed to this newsletter, click on subscribe now to make sure you receive it, and please forward this newsletter to anyone that you think may be interested. If you have a question or anything to discuss, make sure to register for one of my Wednesday audio chats here.?
