What are you looking at!!
Top of the weekend my friends! What are you looking at? The statement itself fosters a roller coster of emotions! Depending on the rationale will it be a foretaste of something fine or will reveal another blind spot?
What are you looking at? Is it the cultural psychographics in our DNA? In my humble opinion, God made us that way for a reason. Probably to keep us more humble. (Good luck with that one)
Anyway, whenever “You” dislike or hate something like a particular people group it’s a blind spot. Then life smacks you in the face with a problem you can’t solve on your own? Unless you can get a miracle. Often times from someone of that particular group. So once again ‘What are you looking at”?
Everyday when you “look” in the mirror, you never really know all that awaits you within the next 24 hours? For example, how many motor vehicle accidents have been caused by those who “miss” or forgot to look at the mirror on the passenger side?
You see it everyday! Those “objects in the mirror, that are closer than they appear”. Which gives a whole new meaning to blind spot!? As my pastor would say “if all you see, is all you see, then you can’t see, all that there is”. Often times it’s repercussions from the blind side.
What are you looking at? You will always be judged by the challenges in life not just the successes. Who’s life is better because they met you?
Having said that, “Confession” is good for the soul!? After the bevy of our recent storms. My landline (Yes I still have one) was down two weeks. While waiting to speak with a call center rep which turned out to be a 57 minute wait. Plus add to that I was disconnected 3 times during this ordeal.
I’m thinking call volumes must have been ridiculously brutal for these service reps. So I decided instead of giving them a piece of my mind. I decided to pray for and with whoever answered my call.
On minute 58:30 I finally got to speak to a representative. My very first comment was “Can I pray with you”?? (Silence) “I realize the volume of calls today has got to be overwhelming. So I just want to pray not only to help you deal with irate customers.” “But that you will be able to handle the volume of customers still waiting like me”. “I know this has got to be out of your control”. “I’m praying you’ll have joy and supernatural patience”.
What to me seemed to be a slightly long pause. He says “Yes”! So I did. My inconvenience turned into something he wasn’t looking for but needed. Actually I did too. Maybe next time you might want to share your joyous optimism and hope?
What are you looking at? Remember you reap what you sow. God cannot be mocked.? It’s a biblical truth that in habits the shape your life. Donut ever forget it!
Oh? Can I pray for you too?
