What If You Had Unlimited Money, Time, Energy and Your Success Was Guaranteed?

What If You Had Unlimited Money, Time, Energy and Your Success Was Guaranteed?

What you would do if you had unlimited money, time, energy and your success was guaranteed?

?I have asked myself that question off and on for years.

?A couple of weeks ago I started #VisionPath with @caterinakostoula to gain clarity around the vision I want for my life.? One of the exercises was to answer this question.

?As I really leaned in to think about this in the context of the lessons, I had these aha moments.

  • I needed to let go of my attachment to some things that no longer serve me.? I accepted that I am wholly enough just as I am.? The external circumstances around me don’t define me and if I can accept them and stop resisting my current reality they don’t seem as scary and impossible.?
  • I have more work to do on forgiveness.? I grew up in a difficult, complicated family and that trauma has been lurking in the background much of my life.? I realize I often let those old hurts shape the way I see and behave in my life today.? Healing myself is a work in progress, but I am moving forward.
  • ?I have a fear that keeps me stuck.? The false belief that I have to stay true to the course no matter what.? I have too much invested to quit now – right?? NO!? As I started to think about what really fills my cup, there are many parts of my job that don’t.? It’s ok to let those go.? Many of my fears are tied to ego driven goals that had me chasing something I really wasn’t interested in.? I was already on to this limiting belief and actually left a job last year that was not aligned with my values and kept me from being true to my authentic self.?

I had a big breakthrough during this exercise.? I am really a lot closer to living my vision than I thought.? Once I moved some of the clouds away and took a closer look, I realize there are parts of my job I really love.? I love coaching and mentoring people.? I love seeing people grow and succeed in their career.? I love feeling like I made a difference for the patients in my care.? I took a new job as an interim worker with no real title, not really even on the organization chart, but I am doing the parts of the work I love, and I am making a difference.? I feel like I am valued for who I am.? I found the joy and excitement around work that I haven’t felt for a long time.

Turns out, if I had unlimited money, time and energy, I might do many of the same things I am doing today.? I am striving to stay present and not worry about the future or cling to the past.? I am trusting my path will become clearer as I walk it.? I took a “no complaints” oath.

?I am embracing the rain and grateful for the sun.? I see endless possibilities where I once thought there wasn’t any.? Caterina said this course would create a cocoon that would let the beautiful butterfly in us take shape….and so it begins!
