What are you going to do when you retire?

I remember years ago my wife asking me what I was going to do when I retired.

I replied that I would likely rent a store-front in Double Bay equipped merely with a desk and chairs where I would meet with other business owners (15 minutes sessions) to offer my guidance and help where I could, entirely free of charge.

I am a strong believer that it is our personal obligation to give back to society as much as we possibly can. Outside of my philanthropic contributions, I figured this would be the best way for me to do so.

While I’m not renting a store-front in Double Bay, I’m trying to work with as many business owners as I possibly can. Being a big advocate that bytes are cheaper than atoms, I’m using technology to leverage my efforts wherever possible. Face to face visits take too long and it would be impossible to see everyone. Online advice allows me to get to more people, faster.

So whilst I try my best to respond to every message, post and email, I’ve also created a competition where I will personally spend time with someone on their business and we will in turn broadcast this session on social media, so many more can benefit.
