What are you getting wrong about ChatGPT Vs Google?
GPTchat vs Google Search: what do people get wrong about it.?
The internet is overwhelmed with excitement of GPTchat.?A subset of these social media gurus even go farther to say SEO is dead! Google is over! Hail ChatGPT!?
There is some truth in it! Only some! Let’s take a short trip into the layers of what makes Google search.?Let’s search with content that a person creates on internet.?
1.?You create a content on internet,
2. Google agents/bots go around and check whats indexed/not indexed
3. If its not indexed, Google indexes it, but not only that,?
4. Google indexes it with lots lots lots of pre-specified rules following regulations, ie Privacy, Copyright norms they learnt decades of experience.?
5. Whats available through Google search follows a lot of rules.?
For example, when you search something, you see one or two lines of descriptions about things. No longer than multiple lines. It is because one or two lines of a description is not subject to copyright. The same goes for your name, address or contact details.?
What most social media posts do not understand is that “GPT” or “GPTchat”, or any other model you maybe creating in your lab or room, is that, the limits of what you can train your model on is “whatever is available on Google” + “if you have access to other APIs”.?
Most of the times you will be finding those APIs through Google search anyway. ?
So meaning, that you can try building as great model as you can, in the end you will be still needing search engine.?Whether you build GPTchat, GPTchat+, or iGPT, whatever it is your building, if you need original, fast new content, you need a way to get it. And google does exactly that.?
There is no doubt, generative models are great in understanding the context of your question and providing you curated answer, but the models need data, the data must come from somewhere. The medium between content creators and model training engineers is Google or any search engine. Search functionality in airbnb or wikipedia is a little different from Search engine.?
ChatGPT/GPT is not realtime! Meaning it is a model trained with large amount of data.?
So before you can find a real time answer, the model must be trained again, which takes a lot of time, meaning it’s no longer real time.?
If Google wants! They can create GoogleChat within 4 weeks, even better than chatgpT! If openAI wants to do what Google can! It will take them years!?
