Fear is a hindrance, an enemy and perhaps the greatest limiting factor there is on the face of the earth. Many have failed to pursue their dreams because of it and others have made their comfort zones the permanent site, at the instance of fear.
Why should I make the leap? What happens if I fall?
Here's the simple answer... What happens if you fly?
Fear is the very antithesis of faith, it is the greatest opposition to breaking through in any sphere of life. Little wonder, those who've done anything great in life have been described as courageous, daring, gutsy and full of faith.
Just look at the Forbes list and you can see those who've not allowed fear to keep them stuck on yesterday, when tomorrow is about to take-off. You see people who've learnt and mastered one industry, succeeded in it, unlearned it and proceeded to another sector to accomplish even greater feats.
What's their secret? They are always bold and hungry! They have not allowed the comforts of their present status or location to rob them of the opportunities that come flying by every once in a while. They celebrate their many victories all night, but by morning, they're back in the lab, as teachable, ambitious and starving for success as they were when they were only interns learning the ropes.
If those who've attained such high levels of success and wealth can be so daring, what excuse do you have my friend?
You might be quick to reply that because they've acquired so much wealth, they have a bountiful buffer or safety net to fall back on if their next venture fails.
But while that sounds logical enough, it's simply not true, because if you know how high-achievers think, you'd know they play high stakes all-or-nothing games. They put all they've got into what they believe in and chase their dreams to the ends of the earth. Many do so without the buffers you think they have, falling back on their status and goodwill when they temporarily fall in the red.
Their appetite to produce the next big thing is almost insatiable, so the comforts of today mean nothing to them. They'd willingly trade all they have to see their next invention come to life!
So, why are you comfortable? What excuse do you have for resting on your oars?
Is it the remembrance of how long it took for you to get here or all what you sacrificed to make it to this level?

The truth is that future success will demand a lot more sacrifices from you at a greater scale than you can imagine, much more than what you feel you've put in already. So, don't believe you've arrived. You're only at midlevel mediocrity, an abyss for those not willing to push further to make it to the top.
Yet, in life you can't stay stagnant for too long and expect others not to overtake you. The longer you stay at that mediocre level, the further back you'd find yourself going, as others make leaps of their own. That's until one day when you find yourself back where you started, with more money and means than before, but way below in the pecking order, simply because the standards and requirements to keep your previous mediocre level were increased and you were violently forced to the background.
I appeal to you with all sincerity not to allow that day come. Don't get too comfortable with the fruits of your success, that you become too fearful to sow them as seeds for greater success.
Stay hungry and intensify your faith in the process that brought you here. Don't seek shortcuts that allow you to succeed without effort, simply because you feel you're now too big to work as hard as you did to get to where you are now.
Remind yourself of where you're coming from and rekindle the fire that was ignited in your belly to drive you to this prosperous place that once seemed like a far-away utopia many years ago.
No matter how great where you are may seem now, it's only a runway for you to take-off to a tantalizing tomorrow. So, run-up, hop, step and jump to your next level.
You belong at the top!
To your success,?

2 年Great article.Fear is indeed a deadly. We must reject it.We should rather do what we fear so that the death of fear will be certain. We must not remain in our comfort zones because of fear.We should leave our comfort zones and stretch.
