What are you doing?

What are you doing? A voice said on the other side of the line….

I said, oh I’m preparing my paperwork for Family court tomorrow, it was the last day of my divorce proceedings.

I have already spent everything I had, I couldn’t afford a barrister or my lawyer to be present and all my binders were at my solicitor’s office, and I had no way of transporting 12 heavy 4inch binders home.

I had to stay focused, going through the motion of checking all my emails to print out whatever document I could find to create a binder that I might need in court.

At the same time, thinking of what my strategy will be, and I was told I will have to do my own cross-examination. Just like the movies but this is real life. My life and my son’s.

It’s been 3 years of fighting and no matter how many times I had tried to mediate a settlement, the other party was not having it.

The call jolted my focus.

.

Suddenly, I was being screamed at for not being at work. I was being told off that I had no authority to just do whatever I wanted to do and I should be at work.

.

I was frozen on the spot, half stuttering, I said, but I had booked these days off. Tomorrow is the final day, and the judge will decide. I kept repeating myself.

.

I finally felt full pressure of what has been going on for the last 3 years.

? The heartbreak

? Work pressure

? The bullying

? Life pressure

Always being reminded that I’m lucky to have a job, what would I do if I didn’t have a job, and so on.

I felt my whole body shake from its core and suddenly, let out a massive scream. I felt the whole house, building, and street shake.

I said, FIRE ME RIGHT NOW! I had booked these days off and this is so important for me. I was crying, screaming, and felt so alone. I have kept it together, I didn’t have a choice.

There was silence, then the caller said. oh! why don’t you come into the office and print out all your documents instead of using a small printer? No apology!

.

At this moment, I had to remind myself to focus. I had no time to waste, and I had to be prepared and still had to think of my strategy.

.

Then, suddenly, DIVINE INTERVENTION. It hit me; I know what to do.

I found 3 points on proving credibility. All anger was put to one side and focused once again on what I needed to do.

? Focus on the result

? Focus on what you would like to achieve

I took the offer and went to the office and printed out all my paperwork to complete my binder.

I learned a lot about myself. I’m strong, determined, and can endure a lot. This issue was never brought up again.

? Don’t wait to speak up and explode.

? Stay focused, think outside the box

? Believe, there is always a solution available

? Trust with your gut and have faith

.

Starting all over again in life is not always a bad thing. The experience you gained, and the wisdom learned are what you can take with you into your next adventure.
