What are you doing differently to have such a good rate of success with your project delivery?

According to some industry sources, the average large IT project runs 45% over budget, 7% over time, and delivers 56% less value than expected; one in six IT projects has an average cost overrun of 200% and a schedule overrun of 70%.
In the last 15 years, I have delivered 26 E2E implementations on-time and on-budget to a full scope. These initiatives were completed in both Waterfall and Agile fashion. This translates into 100% success rate in relation to both timing and resources.
You may want to ask: “What are you doing differently to achieve such an outstanding outcome? What is your secret?”
Here comes the answer:
1. I have been managing project delivery in Australia for more than 15 years.
2. I have delivered projects in a number of industry sectors (i.e. banking & finance, education, utilities, retail & distribution, professional services, telecommunications to name a few).
3. I have a strong technical background. Prior to starting my management career, I worked in various hands on technical roles (programmer, technical lead, business analyst, etc.). Also, I keep this technical expertise current and in the last a few years extend it to implementation of Artificial Intelligence techniques.
4. I am a project manager who is taking accountability for the project success. While some of my colleagues would prefer to administer projects by managing plans, schedules and issues logs and / or consulting senior stakeholders on how the project is progressing and what could be done to improve its chances to succeed, I rather actively plan project activities, monitor execution, effectively manage risks and issue and take corrective actions to get the project back on track when it falls behind the agreed timelines.
5. I can deliver projects in both Agile and Waterfall methods.
6. I have access to a pool of trusted and capable external technology service providers who can help to deliver good quality solutions on-time and within budget.
7. I was extremely lucky to have great teams working with me in my projects and it was because of their experience, knowledge, hard work and commitment that, the projects I was managing were a success. I would not have done so well with their tremendous support!
8. I know how to establish and maintain a good working relationship with the senior stakeholders to allow for the required communication and level of their support.
9. My project plans / schedules are valid, current and optimised.
10. Under my PhD project I have developed and patented a new operational planning and scheduling method. I am using this advanced approach in my day-to-day work.
If successful projects completion in a predictable fashion is your priority, I can help.
