Today’s inspiration comes from an American rapper (bear with me! ??)
I read this quote from an Angel Haze song the other day and it stuck with me:
“You are so much more than you are in this moment; you never know how great you can be. Don’t give up on you...”
It struck a chord because I work with a lot of people who doubt themselves, their dreams, and their ability to make it happen.
Whether it’s a new job, a new career path, a different lifestyle, or anything else, they don’t know if they’ve got it in them.
They question their skills and abilities,?their commitment to the task, and whether it’s even possible to have what they really want.
Many simply believe what they desire isn’t viable.
These doubts often stall them in the pursuit of their dreams, or worse still, stop them making a start altogether.
If this sounds familiar, there’s something I want you to know:
You’ve got what it takes.
I mean it. Everything you’ve learnt, every experience you’ve had, every challenge you’ve faced and overcome; it’s all been a grounding for what’s to come next. You just have to harness it.
Because you are so much more than you are in this moment, and you never know how great you can be!
The road to your dream?might be uncertain, and your fears might feel incredibly real, but:
What if you didn’t give up?
What if you backed yourself, and pursued your dream regardless?
What if you focused solely on the feeling of the idea or the destination you really want, using that positive energy force as your fuel to take a small step towards it? And then another, and another, despite the apprehension, ambiguity or outcome?
That’s what I challenge my clients to do, and it culminates in life-changing results. Here are just a few examples:
These people will forgive me for saying they aren't special. They are simply people who wanted something different, and despite their reservations and fears, they didn’t give up.
They followed their energy and acted on it, one miniscule step at a time, over and over again.
Like them, you have it in you too, no matter how long it takes, or how cloudy the path seems.
So if you dream of a change, choose to?bet on yourself.
As Winston Churchill once said:
"Don’t give up on something that you can’t go a day without thinking about."
Take one small step, then another and another, and see what happens. You might just find out how great you can be!
