What a year it has been!

What a year it has been!

Well, what a year it has been! It is now 12 months ago since I received the news about my ADHD diagnosis. I usually start the year with a holiday skiing ?? ?, which always gives me time to reflect on my last year.?So this is a little late as we are over two weeks into the new year.

I felt the need to put together a post to thank many significant people who have supported me this last year. I better start with the person who started the ball rolling.?

Thanks to Sushie Dobbinson from https://www.spectrumdiagnosis.co.uk/ ?? you were so lovely when I first reached out to you. You are great at what you do, and you are such a professional. Thank-you ??.?

I have learned so much over the last 12 months about the unconscious struggles the ADHD community and I have to deal with daily. A huge thank you goes out to my fantastic coach, Natasha Hickling, PCC . Check her out at https://www.indigo-hub.com/. She specialises in coaching young people who struggle with ADHD, but she made an exception for me, the old man; I'm so grateful for your support ????.?

After a year of gaining so much self-awareness and learning about how my ADHD affects the people who have in my life and myself of course, understanding me has thankfully brought clarity to my lived experiences and the daily challenges I overcome; however, the journey ?? and the learning ??continues.?

Next month, I embark on a new journey as I start my new learning ??in becoming a qualified ADHD coach; I'm adding a few more strings ??to my bow ?? you're never too old ?? to learn.?Always a book in my hand Caroline Wattley ha,ha.

I love learning new things, but it is a struggle. But the sense of achievement in gaining new knowledge and learning new coaching skills will help me no end.

I cannot wait to get started Katie Friedman, PCC, PCAC and Alex Campbell, PCC, MBACP. of https://www.goldmindneurodiversity.com/ I hope the move to New Zealand ???? has gone well, Alex.?I look forward to seeing you next month.

The support I have received over these past two and half years has not gone unnoticed. After my diagnosis, I have met many new friends and connections on LinkedIn. I never knew how big the Neurodivergent community was. It's massive! You have all been fantastic; thank you ??. If I miss anyone out, I do apologise??.?

A big thank you goes to - my partner Caroline Wattley from https://socialvalueportal.com/. You have been amazing with your love and support, you never subscribed to this, but you're still here. Thank you, X.

I have another partner who cannot go unmentioned. What a star this man Matthew Livsey and his wife, Anna. Thanks for keeping me going and lending me your ear to chew off on a daily/weekly basis or, maybe it is hourly?

A recent addition to my support group, thank you for being so patient and understanding of Kate Keir Miller - The Neurodivergent OBM and Amy Russell FInstAM ???? from crescentva.co.uk. I appreciate your support, we will learn on the way??.

Kim Allingham and Matt Gupwell , Richard McCann , Gary Nightingale Creative . Thanks for the impulsive chats ?? you certainly helped when it was needed. I hope I can still call on you if need's be.

To my good friend Danny Matharu you're a legend, I loved our first podcast I cannot wait to get behind the mic?? again and work with you in the not-too-distant future. Danny promotes coping mechanisms fro mental health, he's doing some great work in and around professional and amatuer football.

The other podcast champions who spread the word and generate understanding about neurodiversity is Joseph Pack and Richard Peachey I enjoyed my time with you recording my first podcasts ??. Keep banging the drum guys ??!?

The people who know me best, know I have a big passion for golf ??. Thanks to Gary Martin PGA ; I loved doing my first-ever vlog. We must get out on the course next time and film ?? the next head-to-head. I think I'm one up at the moment, Gaz. I will always remember that. Keep on keeping on as we say????

Thanks, Liane Hawthorne from https://eu.themyersbriggs.com/. You were also great when I needed your support early in my journey- thank you! Sorry for chewing your ear ?? off. I can talk ??a lot ??.

Simon Rhodes and Alison Rhodes it's was great to make that connection in Croatia. I wouldn't have met Simon Mahoney if it wasn't for you, thankyou.
