WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE WORLD TODAY
About a century ago the editor of a very famous news paper called "THE TIMES" put an article and he asked this question, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE WORLD TODAY? All the world famous authors were encouraged to respond to this question and one author by the name of G.K Chesterton responded by saying "Dear Sir I am". What he meant to say was the problem in the world is the "I" the individual. Let me warn you here "THE EGO DOESN'T LIKE THE TRUTH" You see a lot of us complain about how things are in the community, how things are in the society, how things are at the political and government level, how things are at the institutional level, how bad is the traffic. How about this "YOU ARE NOT STUCK IN THE BAD TRAFFIC, YOU BLOODY ARE THE TRAFFIC" But many of us will not take time to reflect on these societal problems actually how they come into play? Let's take an example, all of us have problems with our partners that they cheat. WHY? Because all of us cheat on. If we all decide not to cheat at the individual level, the problem disappears. But rather than fixing ourselves we are worried about other's behaviour and that is why we can never fix anything if we keep our focus on others and not on correcting ourselves. The problem is that we as the individuals, don't want to improve. The solution is, I need to start with myself first. Ultimately the society, the government, the institutions, the education system are simply reflecting the mass thinking of all the individuals coming together. If you are somebody who wants to see a positive change in the world, office, relationship, why not start with yourself first? Accept that you can be wrong. Being right closes the doors for correction and accepting being wrong opens the doors for correction. I deliberately call my friends by wrong names and accept my mistake immediately. That works as a reminder to me that I can be wrong and accepting it and correcting ourselves can be a humbling and fun experience. I changed my focus on being self-aware & independent and I am living a life that I want and am able to make a positive impact on others. You see if the individuals don't start with themselves, their can never be a collective change at the societal level. There is a very famous saying "One of the best thing we can do for the poor in not to be one of them" Is the same thing with everything. If we just take care of our business, our health, our mindset, our family, our responsibilities individually, if every person did that, there will be no dependent people, there will be no homeless people. If every person took care of their health, they took care of their future, just imagine how beautiful will the society look and there will be no sense of expectation and entitlement for somebody to look after us. Until every individual decides to take the highest sense of responsibility for their behaviour, their will be no collective change in the world. This is something that we have heard before but how many of us actually sit down and say I am going to make my life an example and not a warning to other people? Take this as a message and stand up and be the leader in a world, where most of us act helpless and are always looking for someone else to solve our problems. Be the person who solves his or her problem first and then go out and beyond to start solving bigger problems. The biggest problem in the world is "ME". If "I" fix "ME" then only I have a hope to fix others and other problems at the macro level.
