Want to start writing on Linkedin? Here are 10 content ideas/ themes:
- Personal Story - Everyone has a unique story - it can be many small stories about different struggles and challenges you faced in your life and what you learnt from them. Share as little or as much as you are comfortable with. This can even link to motivational stuff.
- Anecdotes - We all know interesting or inspiring people - share their stories. Notice your surroundings and how people behave around you in different situations and places. There will be great anecdotes and learnings there.
- Your Career Journey - Specifically how you made it. Or are still trying to. Did you pivot your career? Did you get mentoring? What worked for you and what didn't?
- Tips, Tricks & Strategies - For people starting out in your field/ company/ entrepreneurial journey. What can you share to help them and make their career journey easier?
- Acknowledgements - Thank the colleague/ team member/mentor/leader with a story of how they have helped you / inspired you to be better. We all love a genuine thank you note.
- Behind The Scenes - Planning a project/ event? Show how you are going about it (if allowed by company policies )- share the behind the scenes - drum up audience interest about a passion project you are going to launch.
- Get A Consensus - The polls feature on Linkedin is great -get a consensus from your network about important issues/ topics. You can even get community engagement in deciding the topic for your next book.
- Work culture/work anniversaries/ Transition stories - Been at a great workplace for a long time and want to showcase the great culture? Moving to a new role but want to say a great goodbye to the team? Become a workplace champion - share a work anniversary story or a transition story.
- Recommendations - Read something great? A new course really helped? Watched a series/ film that taught you something about leadership?
- Failures - We have all failed - in various aspects of our life. If you are comfortable sharing a struggle/ failure, many others will be motivated to 'not give up' and keep going. Share failure stories.
Hope this gets you started with writing on Linkedin.
