What would you do if you lost your voice?

Deepening Engagement through the power of podcasts | Storytelling and Content Creation
I'm a podcaster, and I had recently lost my voice due to illness. My ability to put food on the table lies in my ability to create content for my clients and my platform, along with the hosting services that I provide.
The moment I lost my voice, I lost my tools, my gift, my worth.
(Note: This would've been another episode of "Inside (ED)ition", but as the title suggests, I'm not able to record at this point in time.)
"I feel like closing my business if I can no longer do what I'm supposed to..."
The conundrum of every small business owner - how long do you keep pushing on before you close it down. Is it based on profit, passion or market forces?
Adding on the fact that I couldn't record an episode, I had to postpone prospective recordings on other podcasts, what could I do?
"So what else can you do now?"
Words uttered in front of a mirror in the morning, and reflected upon at night.
Self-doubt creeps in, thinking that I'm not good skilled enough to be an editor, a content strategist, a writer, a planner.
But I have clients who have hired me to do this work! How is it that I'm not skilled enough? I began to put aside the limitations that I sent upon myself and look at what I have done as proof of my capabilities.
"Embrace the suck, and you go further than 99% of those around you"
I was left with 2 choices - give up everything that I've worked for and go back to a cushy office job, or find ways to INCREASE the overall value that could be given to my clients.
99% of people quit when they face adversity. By taking that step in the direction of fear, adversity and all things challenging, you've succeeded in making further than most! Take that as a win!

"Writing is the process of crystallizing your thoughts"
During this "silent period", I've taken more time to read up on my craft, and write about what's important. As I began drafting out ideas, I also began to truly find my voice - the inner voice that doesn't hold back. It was then that I realized that my physical voice was merely a tool to project what the inner voice has been trying to say all this while.
"Podcast Production from start to finish, consists of 4 key pillars: Concept, Content, Objectives and Delivery"
For many, developing a podcast seems like a simple thing - just put a mic in front of you and press record. To an extent, it is that simple. But to make it stand out, all 4 pillars will be developed and aligned. That's where I can add value to my clients' productions.
If you've read this far, thank you. I'm happy to share that it's not permanent, but it was certainly a huge scare to me. For those who are still finding direction in what value they can bring to their lives, their business, their circles of influence, this experience has taught me a lesson that we are adaptable, we are innovative and resourceful. We have more to offer than what we think we have.
Keep Moving Forward.

But your article shows ways on how you can be productive while on a break. Other people would have wallowed but you didn’t. So that shows strength and courage. Thanks for sharing !
