75% of your thoughts are carried over from the previous day.
Holy. Shit.
That blew my mind (pun intended) when I heard that.
If we're all lugging around 75% of the stuff we thought about yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that... that's a whole lot of dead history cluttering up our minds!
Outdated beliefs, unhelpful thoughts, regretted words, lost moments, all being replayed in your mind for days, weeks... YEARS!
Imagine how great it would feel to wake up with echoes of AMAZING thoughts from the previous day?
Are you imagining? I'll give you a moment...
Pretty cool, right? It's amazing, awesome, liberating, and every other positive and enthusiastic word, all rolled into one.
That little hit of good feelings you've just experienced could be yours all day, every day. If you choose it.
You can create that by deciding you want something different instead of the same old stories rattling around in your head, and choosing the new option.
In that moment of choosing the good stuff you actually cut the cord to the negative and unhelpful thoughts, you start generating possibilities for the present moment, and all the ones to come.
Here's a simple but effective technique I've been using for a while - WHAT WOULD IT TAKE?
Ask yourself "What would it take to create more happiness in my life?"
Um... what? Thats silly, right? It can't be that simple!
Yes, it really is that simple.
It doesn't matter if you don't think you have answers to your questions (even though you really do!)
What you're actually doing with those thoughts and statements is refocusing your mind on the positive angle and letting it begin to create possibilities. Keep asking "What would it take?" The key to having this actually work is to not dismiss any of the answers that come up for you before they've had a chance to BE something. Let go of current circumstances and limitations, and allow your imagination fly.
"What would it take to bring more fun and excitement to my life?"
"What would it take to feel fit, healthy and strong every day?"
"What would it take to be my authentic self every day?"
So... What WOULD it take?
