What would Steve or Elon do?

Steve Jobs once said “If the object were to have feelings, these would be based on its desire to fulfill its essence. The purpose of a glass, for example, is to hold water; if it had feelings, it would be happy when full and sad when empty.”Today I finished Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson. I’ve always admired him, a leader of innovation, & his bold zero fucks given attitude. While Apple continues to innovate, it’s nowhere near the world-changing products shipped under Jobs. I remember when I scored my first Apple product. The feelings I had using it. Now every time I get to write ruby on my mac I get the same feeling I had on day one. I'm an Apple-only household. I’ve never gotten emotional from a book, but the way he handled his final moments should be taught in schools. I’ve worked hard to emulate how Steve looked at design, solving problems, & work ethic in my life. Everything I do & associate with must have an ROI. I don’t believe in the 9-5 by 5 & have fun at retirement at 60+. I won’t stop until I’m dead, & if it’s not a fuck yeah, I’m out. While Steve is now designing software from heaven, Elon has the reigns. He gets the same billionaire hate, his innovations are leading the EV market, Space X is why we are back in space after our government failed, & his Libertarian & STEM views are ushering in a new era of advancements. My inner child goes wild every time I sit in my Tesla! Especially when I hit that on-ramp and pass a Lamborghini with ease. I’m all about Tesla battery walls, solar tiles, and Starlink is the only telecommunication innovation in decades helping rural communities. In tech, we understand this better than most. It’s not evenly distributed and advances take time, sometimes generations, to percolate through us, tribal creatures. Steve understood this. Elon does too. Like Jobs, there’s much to emulate Elon. His approach to science and first principles are the gold standard. If you have lofty goals and you’re not working like Elon, look in the mirror, that’s who’s preventing you from reaching your dreams. #workhardplayhard #nolimits #letsbuildnotteardown #howcanihelp?
