What would Mr Ed say on Cup Day?

If you are younger than 45 you might not have been gifted with the American sitcom, Mr Ed, with Wilbur and his talking horse. Mr Ed was always friendly and helpful with his advice and companionship. I just watched this clip again and didn’t even notice it was in black and white then. Geez I’m getting to that age where I can feel myself saying; ‘In my day’. How did this happen? Anyway, I digress.
What would Mr Ed think of one of the most prestigious race days held in Melbourne every year (except for 2020 with the ol’ COVID thing)???
I have no idea. I’m not Mr Ed.
We make so many assumptions about what people are thinking or feeling and ‘know them to be true’. They are not. Unless someone tells you that they don’t want something, don’t like you, disagree with your decision or whatever else. Don’t make it up. It’s a waste of energy, thinking and especially your heart.

Einstein tells us that ‘Assumptions are made and most of them are wrong’. He’s not a genius for no reason. Making them causes pain and suffering for everyone. They are the termites of relationships as Henry Winkler would say. Who we know as Fonzie from Happy Days. Another TV series for the under 40’s to search up.?
So enjoy your day off if you’re in Melbourne. No matter how you feel about the races. Go and love on someone. That’s a much better use of your time and heart.?
Maybe you could find the courage to ask someone you are currently assuming something about, and ask them if it’s true or not. Much more helpful.
