What would a mom say or do?

This isn’t my idea but I was humbled to have been consulted on the initiative.
______
A friend recently disclosed there are times in her life ‘she just needs a mom’s perspective’.
It’s not that she doesn’t have a mom, she does - it’s just their relationship is estranged; and it’s not that she doesn’t have a trusted circle of friends and other family members she can lean on, because she has that too... it’s just ‘sometimes, she wants a mom’s perspective’.
______
So although I’m uncertain where this conversation will go, or what more she wants to do with her thought provoking initiative, I guess all I really wanted to say was ‘I am a mom’ - and if you ever need a ‘mom’s perspective’ (a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, a hug, or a date to something you know every other mom will be at and yours can’t or won’t be) - then I’d be happy to be there for you... Not to take place of anyone’s mom - but to be that placeholder or surrogate.
I have more than enough love to give... and if you need some - don’t be afraid to ask for it.
‘That’s what I think a mom would say or do.’
