How much are one's talent and skills worth? One group of candidates shared one thing they worry the most about this question is going too low and agreeing to un unknown workload.

Others, mentioned they are afraid of losing the chance they are being offered if they ask for a higher salary.

Here's a tip for interviewers

Try giving confidence to the interviewee by explaining that his answer will not necessarily affect their salary. Even better, talk about the salary range established for the position they are being interviewed for.

2. Talking about past experiences in English

LATAM developers handle their English pretty well and most of them have experience speaking English in a relaxed setting or situation. However, some get nervous talking about work and situations in the past tense.

They feel pressured to use nouns and verbs in the correct tense to prove that they can handle communicating using proper English. This is a first-impression situation since LATAM developers that are hired tend to loosen up once they get the job.

Here's a tip for interviewers

Compliment your candidate on their English skills. Appreciate their effort by pointing out the things they get right or getting the message across.

Keep in mind?

Making your candidates feel that they are in a safe environment can help them become more relaxed. This will create the space for them to show you how talented they are. At the end, give them actionable feedback so they learn how to improve.
