What the World Needs Now is Love Sweet Love"!
This popular 1965 song was released 54 years ago this April 15, 2019. It was a big hit back then because of it's meaning and it continues to ring true today. So, why hasn't the human race figured out how to truly love one another yet? It's sad, we are the most intelligent species, yet the most stubborn to focus on what is most important to the human race and our entire planet.
I recently read an HBR article featuring the Dalai Lama "Why Leaders Should Be Mindful, Selfless, and Compassionate". Everything said in that article echoes the critical importance of being compassionate!
My personal mantra in all my talks is EQ, Love, Empathy, and Compassion. My intention is to bring greater awareness of the importance of EQ, Love, Empathy, and Compassion in each of our lives, every day of our lives being mindful of our responsibilities to self and to others.
The Dalai Lama continued "Destructive emotions are related to ignorance, while compassion is a constructive emotion related to intelligence. Consequently, it can be taught and learned." This is so true. So, ask yourself, are you leading each day mindful, selfless and with compassion towards self and others or have you lost yourself and succumb to destructive emotions along your life journey?
One of my favorite quotes is by Mahatma Gandhi "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."

5 年Jane, I agree with your advice. My go-to source on the topic of loving others is Bob Goff, a Christian attorney. Sounds like an oxymoron but not Bob.
