I am glad the Chinese takeout carton exists!

Today happens to be National Chinese Takeout Day. These days there are national food days every single day of the year. However, being such an avid Chinese food fan, and since I am in the food delivery business, I figured it was fitting to lay out my thoughts on what is in my humble opinion, the best concoction to this day that exists for taking food from one place to another.

Sure, pizza gets so much limelight for good reason. The pizza box is durable, easy to handle, and helped build the foundation for how we know delivery today. Although we still have a ways to go with delivery packaging, the Chinese takeout carton is as reliable as it gets. What I immensely respect about the Chinese takeout carton is how durable it really is. Pizza boxes definitely are impacted by extremely greasy pizza. You can't say the same thing for Chinese takeout cartons.

Ironically, the Chinese takeout carton isn't an Asian invention, it is American. Back in 1894, Frederick Weeks Wilcox patented something called a "paper pail". Basically it was a makeshift leakproof container that he made from a single piece of paper that he creased. There was a wire on top to help with handling, and the rest as we know it is history. 125 years later, we ask ourselves how much harder would it be to eat many of the foods we thoroughly enjoy?

We live in a convenience society, and I can't think of a better simple pleasure that makes life that much easier, than the Chinese takeout carton. The only question I have for you is are you getting Chinese Delivery or pickup today? Food for thought!
